Volunteering in the UAE: Using Volunteers.ae
Volunteers.ae is a nationwide platform connecting individuals with public and private sector opportunities. Registration involves creating a profile, specifying interests and availability, then browsing and applying for roles across several categories. Eligibility rules vary by opportunity and emirate.
What Volunteers.ae offers
Volunteers.ae describes itself as a nationwide platform connecting volunteers with opportunities from public and private organisations across the UAE.
Opportunity categories on the platform
The platform lists several areas where help is needed. Consider which of these align with your own skills or curiosity.
- Community and social impact
- Education, culture and awareness
- Operational support
- Specialist volunteering
- Environmental volunteering
Registration and profile completion
Registration involves sign-up, profile completion and opportunity applications. The platform says volunteers can specify interests and availability when setting up an account.
Searching by interest and availability
Once you have noted your interests and available hours, browse and apply for suitable opportunities. We suggest filtering by interest where the platform allows it, then reading each listing's own requirements carefully rather than assuming a placement is open or that participation is automatically approved.
Checking eligibility before you apply
Eligibility, licensing and application requirements differ between roles. Verify the current opportunity and emirate rules before submitting an application.
